Welcome to The Hardy Librarian, your go-to resource for everything happening at the Eagle View Elementary School Library in Port Hardy, located at the very tip of Vancouver Island. My name is Barb Cave, and I am passionate about creating a dynamic and inclusive library environment that serves our diverse community.

Advocate for a welcoming, inclusive LLC that promotes inquiry, creativity, and 21st-century learning.

Collaborate with the community to integrate Indigenous knowledge and promote student agency.

Cultivate lifelong reading and learning.

To empower every student and staff member by fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.   I aim to innovate by integrating cutting-edge technologies and diverse perspectives, including Indigenous ways of knowing. My vision is to transform the Library Learning Commons into a vibrant, inclusive hub where lifelong learning and literacy thrive, and students actively shape their educational journeys, becoming informed, engaged citizens.

Successful Events

The Graphic Novel Poster Contest was a success! With Roughly over 40 entries it made narrowing down and picking winners difficult below is the third place entry!
